Additional Personal Essay Guidelines
Please discuss what experience you have had with personal injury, whether it was an accident that you were involved in, or one that affected a family member or friend. Personal injury accidents are broad in spectrum. Some examples of a personal injury accident include bad car wrecks, negligent exposure to hazardous materials, dog bites, and medical malpractice.
Why was access to the legal system, or the ability to file a claim, so important in this situation? For example, did the legal process punish a wrongdoer, make a defective product safer, or enforce existing laws? Did it help you or a family member pay for medical treatment? Explain what the legal system provided to you, your family, or your friend. Did it offer justice for you or someone you love? Were you able to gain closure? Did you (or a loved one) obtain compensation for injuries?
Sharing your positive and negative experiences with the legal system may be used by our firm to help others in your situation to feel more at ease and validated.
