A Grand Jury will Investigate the Recent Philadelphia Building Collapse
A grand jury will investigate the Philadelphia building collapse that killed six people. The grand jury will determine whether anyone other than crane operator Sean Benschop will face criminal charges.
Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams said that the grand jury will review “any and all aspects” of the collapse. CNN reported that Williams said this will include City of Philadelphia agencies and policies. In the meantime, Mayor Michael Nutter stated that the crane operator’s reckless and irresponsible behavior was a cause of the accident.
Sixteen people were injured in the collapse, in addition to the six who lost their lives.
